Unexpected News: No Hospital Room for Expectant Mom
t's unexpected news to hear today there's no hospital room available for an expectant mom to deliver her baby. I wasn’t going to blog the week of Christmas, but this story is begging to be told. Our daughter is nine months pregnant. Any moment now, she will give birth to a son. He is positioned and ready. We’re just waiting on him to make his journey. However, at the time of this writing, there is no birthing room available for them. Our daughter and her husband chose a smaller hospital because they love the obstetricians there. However, it is because of those who are suffering greatly, that I want to participate in CRPS Awareness Month. Chronic pain sufferers, as well as their families, require courage. Courage to search, to…

No matter how much you learned about Abraham Lincoln in your last American History class, there’s more to appreciate in John Cribb’s book, OLD ABE: A Novel. Perhaps you remember stories of him splitting fence rails or wearing a black top hat. Maybe you’ve heard a few interesting tidbits about his wife, Mary Todd or their children: Bob, Tad, and Willie. Most people think of Lincoln when they discuss the Civil War, the Emancipation Proclamation and the Thirteenth Amendment of the Constitution. You’ll find all of these things and much more...
