A Twist of Faith on Random Acts of Kindness
by Sally Matheny Have you ever been blessed by an act of Christian kindness? Random acts of kindness are fun to give and receive. Kindness breaks through barriers. It changes lives. This post, however, has an intentional Christian element to it. I wrote this post several years ago and because of its popularity, I repost it every December. Intentional Acts of Kindness You hear many stories about random acts of kindness. One time, a family waited until their neighbor went to work. Then, they secretly placed a festive welcome mat at the neighbor’s front door. The children in this family liked giving in secret; much like that St.…

30 Days of Serving & Sharing: Faithfulness & Joy
by Sally Matheny Today we’ll relish the last portion of our four-part series, 30 Days of Serving & Sharing: Faithfulness & Joy. If you missed the previous posts, they offer a total of sixty ideas of family activities. I’ve included the links to those at the bottom. When you serve others, the Lord may provide an…

MY CHRISTMAS ABC’s Christian Book Review
by Sally Matheny Christmas will be here before you know it so today I’m sharing a Christian book review of the MY CHRISTMAS ABC’s board book. My one-year-old grandson will LOVE this book for Christmas! The Details The rounded corners are nice since he tends to put everything in his mouth right now. The book is a nice square size, measuring eight-by-eight inches. The twenty, sturdy pages are filled with beautiful, full-color illustrations. A few objects on each page are sprinkled with a fine, iridescent glitter. Multiethnic people are represented. The face of the baby Jesus is not white but is light brown. Also, Santa Claus, elves,…
