LOVE WELL MY PRECIOUS ONE – Book Review {Giveaway}
One of our greatest desires is to teach children how to be kind and love others well. Consider adding Jill Roman Lord’s picture book, LOVE WELL MY PRECIOUS ONE, to your teaching toolbox.
The Author
Jill Roman Lord is a wife, mother of three, runner, author, writer, nurse anesthetist, and Jesus lover. An author of Christian children’s books, Jill dedicated this book to the “love of [her] life,” her husband, Bill.
Several of Jill’s books are featured on this blog including Dream Big, My Precious One and You’re More Than a Sprout.
“Jill is a Christian and loves Jesus to her core. He is her all-in-all. She tries to follow His lead but messes up a lot. She looks forward to all God still has in store for her in this journey called life. Charlotte, NC is home to Jill and her family, and you can find her running, hiking, and golfing.” (quoted from jillromanlord.com.)
The Content of LOVE WELL, MY PRECIOUS ONE
The rhyming text of this book speaks to any child, boy or girl. but it features a mother speaking to her daughter. It opens with the mom telling her daughter God created her with “a great big heart” and then she proceeds to tell her ways she can choose to love others well.
Children will hear of numerous kind deeds. Examples include taking care of and sharing toys, playing well with others, and working out problems with friends. Also, caring for animals and God’s world.
The illustrations in LOVE WELL, MY PRECIOUS ONE are in bold and bright colors. Camila Carrossine did a beautiful job illustrating children of all skin colors showing love through wise choices and kind deeds.
Fittingly, the book ends with John 13:34 from the NIV Bible.
