What is an Affiliate?
An affiliate is someone who chooses to come alongside a company or individual and help promote their products or services.
For example, as an affiliate of ChristianBook.com, I occasionally offer links on my website to their company’s website. If one of my readers desires more information about a product, they can choose to click the link which will take them straight to the company’s website.
If the reader makes a purchase, I will receive a small stipend. The customer does not pay any more than if he had went directly to the website, without a link. There are no additional charges of any kind. It’s just a small token of appreciation paid to me for helping promote ChristianBook.com.
Why I Have Chosen to Use Affiliate Links
I have chosen to include a few affiliate links for this website for three reasons.
- One of my goals has always been to promote wholesome, Christ-honoring products. I believe if we want to see more of these things produced, then we need to support those who create and distribute them.
- Providing links to quality products make life a little easier for my readers. This saves them time in finding resources which will equip, encourage, and empower.
- My old blog was free. With the creation of this new website, I now pay for hosting service, website design, and occasionally technical assistance. Even though the stipends are small, every penny helps support this website.
How I Choose Affiliate Companies:
- A great deal of consideration goes into who/what I choose to promote. I will only recommend products/services I stand behind. The primary goal of my website is not about making money. It is to encourage, equip, and empower my readers to tell the next generation wondrous things. I am very selective and use affiliate links sparingly.
- The products I recommend must correlate to what this website is about. Please do not send me a request to advertise your company or product unless it directly ties into the goals and content of this website. If you send a request, and do not hear from me within four weeks, then you will know your product/service is not a good fit.
